President John Dramani Mahama will continue his tour of the Volta Region today.

The President and Leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will address a mini rally of party supporters at Kpassah , Nkwanta, Kadjebi and Jasikan.

Our Humble, Trustworthy , Peaceful and Hardworking President was mobbed by ecstatic crowds at Kpando, Nkonya, Kwamekrom, Dambai and Borae. He also commissioned a water project and a new Community Day Senior High School at Kpando and Kwamekrom respectively.

It is evident that the Changing Lives and Transforming Ghana agenda of President John Dramani Mahama is being felt by Ghanaians in all the regions.

MEETING OF THE SOCIALIST INTERNATIONAL AFRICA COMMITTEE

ACCRA, GHANA 7-8 OCTOBER, 2016

 

The Socialist International Africa Committee met in Accra, Ghana on 7-8 October 2016 under the theme “Advancing our social democratic vision in Africa: securing jobs, guaranteeing accessible facility education, developing health systems and ensuring social protection for all”.

 

The following accords were reached:

 

  1. On the main theme: “Advancing our social democratic vision in Africa: securing jobs, guaranteeing accessible quality education, developing health systems and ensuring social protection for all”.

 

  1. That the Socialist International member countries in government must strive to reach out to their colleagues who find themselves in opposition and dialogue more often on strategies that could help them get their voices heard on issues of good governance, rule of law, social protection and a sense of belonging.

NDC HOS T AFRICA COMMIT TEE MEETING OF SOCIALISTS INTERNATIONAL

The National Democratic Congress (NDC ) this year hosted the African Committee Meeting (ACM) of the Socialists International (SI) . The two -day meeting held be tween October 7, and October 8 attracted participants from over 20 African centre-left governments and, some SI leaders including the Secretary General of the SI, Luis Ayala . The conference was under the theme, ‘ advancing our social democratic vision in Africa: securing jobs, guaranteeing accessible quality education, developing health systems and ensuring social protection f or all. High on the agenda for discussion was   pragmatic ways of creating jobs, especially for t he youth, access to quality  health care and education among other  social intervention issues. The dis cuss ion was with in the core values o f social  democracy – freedom, equality, just ice and solidarity. His Excellency Paa   Kwesi Amissah Arthur, Vice President and running mate o f Ghana’s President   and leader of the NDC, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama opened the meeting on Friday.  President Mahama performed the closing ceremony on Saturday with assurance that the NDC  government will advance its socialist democratic vision

President John Dramani Mahama will tomorrow, Monday, outdoor a Braille Version of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2016 Manifesto.

The Braille Version will make the NDC Manifesto accessible to the visually impaired and reflects the commitment of the NDC and President Mahama to expand interventions and introduce additional social protection initiatives to benefit the vulnerable.

At the same ceremony, President Mahama will interact with Persons with Disability and hand over to their National Federation, the promised demonstration models of the motorised transport for physically challenged persons.

Under the ‘Consolidating Social Protection’ section of the NDC 2016 Manifesto, President Mahama made a commitment to improve the mobility of the physically challenged and introduce them to economic activities using motorised tricycles.

The launch will take place at the forecourt of the State House in Accra at 2pm.
